We engaged the services of Allan and company in December, 2025. We’d had a fireplace installed and needed the surrounding structure and mantle built. Allan’s workmanship and that of his associate was excellent; very meticulous and professional. Always willing to discuss any aspect of the project. This past November 2025, my wife and I had the absolute pleasure of working with Al. Quick backstory: we bought a previously loved, high-end kitchen off Facebook Marketplace. We had also looked at kitchens from Home Depot and a few other places and, honestly… not great, especially for the prices being asked. Enter Al. And if you’re really lucky, you might also meet the other Al. Yes — two Als. Coincidence? Destiny? Slightly weird? All of the above. Al took our Facebook kitchen, came in, organized everything exactly where it needed to go, carefully removed the pieces, and then disappeared for a bit like some kind of cabinetry wizard. Not long after, he returned… and unveiled an absolute masterpiece. I won’t say we cried — but I will say the finished kitchen looks like a $30,000+ custom install. Al, thank you. Thank you for your care, your craftsmanship, your artistry, and for the genuine happiness you (and Al #2) brought to my wife Mish and me. You are a true wonder, my good man.

"Amber Aged completed a full retail build-out for Tosho Knife Arts, delivering custom cabinetry, shelving, and tables in line with the designer’s specifications. The project included dividing the space into multiple functional areas, as well as assisting with drainage for the sharpening room and lower-level bathroom. A custom wood strip wall feature added a distinctive design element, with materials sourced efficiently to reduce overall costs. Throughout the build, cabinetry details were executed with care, and design adjustments were handled collaboratively to ensure long-term functionality. Despite being located hours away, Al and his team completed the project on schedule. Four years later, the cabinetry remains in excellent condition, and Amber Aged has continued to support the space with follow-up adjustments and maintenance."

"In the spring of 2024, we renovated the kitchen in our hundred-plus-year-old home, completely gutting the space down to the subfloor. Al and his team removed six layers of flooring before levelling the surface and installing beautiful new hardwood. They also installed a new window and coordinated the installation of our granite countertops and backsplash. Al’s team built and installed custom upper and lower cabinets, along with a stunning island tailored to our needs. The thoughtful details truly make the space special: a media drawer for charging devices, a divided drawer for baking pans, 4 toe-kick drawers, a pantry, and a laundry area. Every drawer is deep, functional, and glides open and closed with ease. Before construction began, we met with Al and shared our vision for our dream kitchen. Not only did he listen carefully—he brought that vision to life and even enhanced it with his own ideas. Al has completed two large projects for me at two different properties, and my experience with him has been exceptional. Between 2021 and 2024, Al helped renovate and refresh my 1940s plantation-style lake house in Belleville. Every aspect of the work was completed with great care and attention to detail, ensuring the original architectural integrity was preserved. This was a substantial project involving the demolition and installation of two kitchens, a full bathroom renovation, updates to secondary bathrooms, and thoughtful adjustments to the floor plan to better suit our family’s needs. I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I was with the millwork he created—Al expertly replicated the home’s original style, resulting in seamless and beautiful continuity throughout. The second project, completed in 2023, involved a full renovation of an early-1900s flat I purchased in Forest Hill, Toronto. Al preserved as much of the original woodwork as possible, maintaining the apartment’s charm, while any new additions were carefully designed to honour the building’s age, character, and craftsmanship.
