The CNC router table that we use for our cabinetry gave us the opportunity to collaborate with a local sign artist in creating the elements for a new Belleville business’s signage. Not only are CNC routers a must have for the cabinetry building process, but they are also quite fun to use. It is like having a robot employee in the shop who can cut materials into complicated patterns and shapes perfectly, perform incredibly detailed engraving, and resurface a variety of materials to perfectly flat. Your imagination is the limit for what you can do with a CNC router and it is the perfect tool for sign production..
The letters were cut very crisply from a material called Alumapanel, which is two thin aluminum sheets bonded to a plastic core. The lettering will be painted in a deep base exterior paint and mounted in a floating style with back lighting. We are always eager to collaborate with other local artists, trade and craftspeople on their projects, and we can’t wait to see the finished product here!
