For a home in Tweed we built a very contemporary set of built-ins and a large entertainment console for the home theatre system in the living room.
The pantry and coffee bar were built into previously unusable space which we reclaimed in the passageway between the kitchen and the living room.
We clad the doors in ebony-stained oak tiles which were installed with the grain of the tiles set in a purposefully random manner. We created concealed handles, used push-to-open latches and continued the oak tile treatment along the ceiling overhead, creating an immersive space to walk through which conceals the built-ins when their doors are shut. They open to an impressive reveal of charcoal and oak cabinetry and a striking natural stone counter at the coffee station.
The entertainment console has five compartments, a drop-down door in the middle for the home theatre receiver and 4 deep maple drawers on either side. The customer’s chose a white composite stone countertop. All wiring is hidden in the walls to create a crisp and clean finished look.
