This customer had a very authentic rustic aesthetic in mind for her farmhouse kitchen. We combined her own antique barnboards with our cabinet door construction method to reface the entire kitchen and achieve her vision.
All the original character of the materials were preserved and celebrated in the build. Old barn latches and hooks were left attached, knot holes and whatever old paint which still clung to the boards after so many years were included in a thoughtful placement.
The old barn boards were laden with splinters and were extremely hard on the tooling in the shop, but to have the opportunity to produce such a unique project and have the customer thrilled with the result made all the effort quite rewarding.
